Nowhere can it be so black as on the edge of a Cornish moor, above the western sea, near the rocks where the ancient worshippers used to sacrifice. The darkness of menhirs.

Bocka Du (meaning ‘Bad Ghost’ in Cornish) is a photobook derived from an ongoing series exploring the relationship between Cornish folk tales and the land. The work evokes the darkness, mystery, and magic which play a part in forming the Cornish landscape's sense of place. The viewer is immersed in a liminal and unsettling world haunted by giants, saints, and mermaids, implying an eerie social commentary on the drained state of the county.
